At BridgeLit, we are passionate about defeating the high illiteracy rate in this country. Only 1/3 of our nation's 4th through 12th-grade students are reading at grade level. Those already behind continue to lag, making up 21% of functionally illiterate adults in the United States. BridgeLit aims to address this societal problem.
Our mission is to successfully bridge the literacy gap in this country by integrating technology and proven reading instruction. A literate society helps secure a more promising future for all youth and ensures a population that can fully participate in our democracy.
Aimed at youth 7+, we are targeting those who have fallen behind and will continue to do so without intervention. By Grade 3, students are expected to read to learn, not learn to read. Using gamification to drive engagement , AI to aid in tailored learning and proven pedagogy we envision a new approach to edTech.
This is just the start of products for both youth and adults.
BridgeLit is the town where Nibbleton the Mouse, Phin the mischievous Cat, and Gigi, the resident Giraffe librarian reside. They guide the users as they embark on a game that covers the critical blocks of fluency: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, and Reading Fluency.
